A serial entrepreneur, Jeff has over 25 years of management, technical, and sales experience leading technology companies, including 3 successful startups. Most recently, he was Founder and CEO of ActiveStrategy, Inc., which was acquired by The Advisory Board Company. At ActiveStrategy, Jeff provided management consulting to many leading organizations around the world and gained deep expertise in several vertical industries. Jeff also helped lead the successful startups CorNet International and The Xplorer Group. Jeff holds a B.S. and M.S in Computer Science from East Stroudsburg University where he specialized in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
Bharad has over 19 years of high technology experience in CPU design, cache coherency, scalable high performance fabrics, specialized computing, and high-speed flash memory in senior architecture positions at Intel, Huawei, and Violin Memory prior to joining NVXL. He was one of the key architects of Intel's QPI MP with glueless and directory-based home agents that is central to the highly successful Xeon-EX line of servers. At Violin, he designed a flash controller architecture for low latency and high density and led the team to map it to FPGAs that have since been shipped with all Violin All-Flash Arrays. He has several publications, nine issued patents, and several pending patents in CPU design, machine learning acceleration, and NVM technologies. His primary interest is cluster-distributed parallel programming algorithms in deep learning such as distributed stochastic gradient descent. He is currently focused on building high density clustered acceleration for compute and data-intensive workloads such as deep learning and in-memory databases, and exploiting the data locality between data stores and AI accelerators. He has a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech where his research thesis was on systolic pipelines for image recognition. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Andhra University, India.
